[edit] Rain check

Rain check was deleted under CSD criteria A5 - it has been transwikied to Wiktionary. Natalie 02:50, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Here, specifically. Natalie 02:51, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
If you feel that you could expand this article beyond a dictionary definition in a reasonable period of time, I would be willing to undelete. If not, it really doesn't belong, as the article had no information beyond a dictionary definition. Natalie 03:21, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Another option, if you want to work on the article at some point but can't do it in the near future: I could copy the last version to a subpage of your userpage, which would give you the article, and plenty of time to look for sources. Natalie 03:24, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reverse 911

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Reverse 911, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Reverse 911

Reverse 911 is a trademarked product unreferenced within the redirect article

[edit] Floor (building) to Storey

This message is regarding the move from Floor (building) to Storey. You say that the reason for the page move is because storey is less ambiguous than floor (building). How about a move from Georgia (U.S. state) to State of Georgia?? Normally, we just add a dis-ambiguation suffix in parentheses when needed, rather than using a fancier name. [edit] Spam in Portable People Meter

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Portable People Meter, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Portable People Meter is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Portable People Meter, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it did not nominate Portable People Meter itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 12:21, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] At (Windows)

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article At (Windows), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Tikiwont 10:06, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please revise your comments about APC's use of 10P10C Connectors

Our motiviations for using this connector and more detailed pin-outs are stated in US patents 6445088 and 6775715. The USB-IF would not allow us to put a USB-B jack on our devices as they are low speed devices which require proprietary connectors or attached cords. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jimspitaels (talk • contribs) 22:27, August 22, 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Speedy deletion of Adapt

A tag has been placed on Adapt, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g12.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Myanw 12:55, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright problems

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Adapt, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.adaptplc.com/about/. As a copyright violation, Adapt appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Adapt has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Adapt and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Adapt with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Adapt.

However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Tonywalton  | Talk 12:57, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: your message

Errr I'm sorry, I have no idea... I use a semi-automated tool which is supposed to notify the original author of a page I tagged for speedy deletion. What's even stranger is that you were also warned by an admin of possible copyrights problems on that same article...

My guess is you created the page "adapt" as a redirect to another article ("adaptation", maybe), then the content changed. You were notified as the original author that the page was about to be deleted, but you weren't responsible for the deletable content. Cheers! - Myanw 06:47, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm afraid I can't, I am not an admin, and I don't know if they can do it themselves. What I can do, is recreate the page with the original redirect. - Myanw 07:09, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Done! - Myanw 07:11, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Radiojon created the page originally (back in 2004!) and was notified as the original creator, rather than the editor who should have been notified who'd applied later changes. My bad (I'm not using an automated tool; as an admin I can look at deleted revisions but didn't look in enough detail) and, I suppose, the automated thingy that Myanw's using should have a bit more sense as well. Apologies for the confusion caused. (this message copied to Radiojon and Myanw) Tonywalton  | Talk 08:15, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Doing business as

Doing business as, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Doing business as satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Doing business as and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Doing business as during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. [edit] Speedy deletion of Little Bucks

A tag has been placed on Little Bucks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Surf's Up

Howdy. I noticed that you moved Surf's Up to Surf's Up (album), and then redirected Surf's Up to the Surf's Up (disambiguation). That seems like it was unnecessary, but I suppose that it doesn't really matter. However, there are now more than 100 links pointing towards Surf's Up which are supposed to go to Surf's Up (album), but instead are being redirected to Surf's Up (disambiguation). I was wondering if you were going to go through them all and point them to the right place. Thanks! MookieZ 15:24, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Don't worry, I've cleaned up the mess. Thanks for ignoring it/me. MookieZ (talk) 05:24, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Light bulb (disambiguation)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Light bulb (disambiguation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Light bulb (disambiguation).

I didn't propose deletion; my role is simply to inform you that someone did. Fg2 (talk) 00:12, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright violation in Winecoff Hotel

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Winecoff Hotel, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Winecoff Hotel is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Winecoff Hotel, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. [edit] Template:Invcat

If you wish to object to its deletion, please list your objection here and feel free to remove the {{deprecated}} tag from the template. If you feel the deletion is appropriate, no further action is necessary. Thanks for your attention. Bryan Derksen (talk) 08:02, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 2VSB

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article 2VSB, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Metal theft - please help with source

Hi,

Back in April 20, 2007, you added the following unsourced section to the metal theft article:

Metal theft is also a problem in metro Atlanta, with reports of air conditioning thefts from a few home and commercial sites. In April 2007 there were even reports of mobile phone base station equipment being destroyed at tower sites on the south side. While each theft would net about 200 dollars in copper wire and feedline, each destroys about 100,000 dollars in equipment and repair costs.

Can you please provide a source for these figures?

Thanks, -- Gabi S. (talk) 18:42, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:ZIPcode

A tag has been placed on Template:ZIPcode requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 20:48, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Sanibelcityseal.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sanibelcityseal.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 21:45, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Herndon Home

Hi Radiojon -- Thanks so much for adding to the new Herndon Home article. Wow, awful that it was demolished, i was just getting interested in writing it up more. Since the article is brand new, it is eligible for DYK mention, but i couldn't have a picture. You seemed to try to add a picture, but it didn't upload properly somehow. With a pic, I guess it would make an interesting story, demolished, too. Would you please try again? I am one interested in seeing it! :) Also, do you have a newspaper article or other source about the place being damaged and then demolished? I could do some other searching, too. doncram (talk) 00:09, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

pic shows up properly for me now, maybe problem was just on my end. doncram (talk) 00:17, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
This article describes tornado damage and demolition of another Herndon building. Perhaps that is what you heard, and the mansion is not also demolished? doncram (talk) 00:36, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Boomania.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Boomania.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 11:20, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
