Hi, my name is jane smouse,long my mother was margaret mattern, her grand mother was nancy Clayton moore; My Grandfather was Edward Elsworth Mattern son; of Nancy and Abraham Mattern. Nancy was born in Clairon Co. in 1833. i was raised by this grandfather . he had a large knowledge of herbs which he always said his mother taught him the medical art of herbs. Which he said she learned from her mother who was a senaca indian. He taught my brother to wrestle and many other things we all thought were neat. I do not claim to be any thing except a little curious about the orgin of my gr. grandmother. her obit claims she was well loved in her family and by her neighbors she may have only a good neighboro I would love to know. thank you for letting me join your group.
