[edit] about streams in Radio Paradise
in his post in Radio Paradise forum (Mar 17, 2006 - 7:38am) BillG wrote: "The Real links are just .ram files which point RealPlayer to our MP3 streams. Same deal with the 128k Windows Media link - it just points to the MP3 stream (the 20k WMA is the only true WMA stream we have)". [edit] RE: streams
I knew about that (actually i learned it from that from the same forum post ;) ), but i haven't figured out a way to express that in understandable english without it getting too complicated for the average reader who might not be interested in audio codecs versus container formats. It's a funny inaccuracy indeed, if someone knows how to correct it without expanding the streaming format-section of the article with half a page by doing so, an edit would be welcome...
[edit] RE: notability
Ryz 07:58, 14 September 2006 (UTC) Not sure what the requirements are however radioparadise is pioneer in the field both in its broadcasted formats as in its funding setup through donations and proceeds from on-line purchases. Essentially it's a non-commercial radio station, as opposed to regular radio stations that are largely influenced by major record labels. To some extent the same applies to the eclectic nature of the music that's broadcasted, which defies easy categorisation, as is more common nowadays with so-called formats in specialized radiostations/satellite channels. There are several newspapers articles that refer to it with some of the points made above. Any additional tips on notability would be welcomed.
