Radio Rovers

Radio Rovers is the radio station of Blackburn Rovers FC, who play football in the English Premiership.

It was the first radio station to be broadcast by a football club and many other clubs have copied this very successful matchday entertainment. The studio is based in Rovers' Ground Ewood Park and is located in the away stand - the Darwen End.

It is available on matchdays for fans to listen to match commentary during any of Blackburn's home games. The entertainment includes pre-match build up, music, team news, and manager comments, after the commentary there is a post-match analysis, interviews, and viewer phone-in's. Programmes start 4 hours prior to the game, and a typical day covers 7 hours on-air

Gerald Jackson, seen as the voice of Radio Rovers, is a long time presenter of the show. He is also a local radio presenter for BBC Radio Lancashire.

The station broadcasts a 'free to air' service under an OFCOM RSL (restricted service license) on 1404 kHz am around Blackburn. You can also listen anywhere in the world via the clubs official website rovers.co.uk - for which you pay an annual subscription.
