Radio Lumbini

Radio Lumbini is a Nepalese radio station. It started broadcasting in January 2000 and is locally financed. It is known for being the first co-operative radio in South Asia and the first rural radio station in Nepal. It transmits on 96.8Mhz. Radio Lumbini transmits for fourteen and half hours a day, and produces programes related to social, cultural and environmental awareness. It is located near Lumbini, the birth place of Gautam Buddha.
