Radio KOL is an internet station that has been airing on AOL since 2003. The show's DJ, Rick Adams, was an immediate hit with kids. The show soon grew to over 1,000,000 listeners.
[edit] History
The show started as an experiment with AOL's new service, KOL or "Kids Online". The show grew quickly to over 1,000,000 listeners per week. The among the most popular DJs were Dean Lewin "Dean0o0o0o"(as DJ Rick calls him), "Crazy Matt" (Matt Hammer), "DJ Poohbear" (Chris Riddle) and "DJ James" (James Sullivan). It was the first ever live radio show broadcast on AOL for children aged 6 to 15. The show's host Rick Adams (television presenter) frequently entertained listeners with guest celebrities visiting the show and a variety of games including "MooBaa", where DJ Rick would give a guest 30 seconds to guess whether an animal he names is a cow (by saying Moo) or a sheep (by saying Baa).
On November 25th, DJ Rick announced AOL would be canceling Radio KOL. Five days later, on November 28th, Radio KOL presented its final show.
[edit] Present
On 13 February 2008, AOL shut down the remaining stream of the archived Radio KOL broadcasts.[1]
