Radeberger
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Radeberger is one of the first German breweries which developed and brewed a pils, the Radeberger Pilsner. The brewery is located at Radeberg, Saxony, near Dresden, Germany. The brewery takes pride in the fact that in 1905, Radeberger Pilsner became the favourite drink of king Friedrich August of Saxony.
During the existence of the German Democratic Republic Radeberger was hard to come by for ordinary citizens and you needed "connections" to get it, but it is now one of the most popular Pilsner beers in Germany and is widely available abroad. Visitors to Dresden often enjoy it in the brewpub located on the Elbe river near the old Dresden tobacco factory.
