Rachel McTavish

Rachel McTavish is a journalist and presenter, working for STV as presenter of the regional news magazine The Five Thirty Show in Northern and Central Scotland. Previously, McTavish worked on ITV London's regional news programme, London Tonight, and the national ITV Morning News. She was also a regular presenter on the ITV News Channel until it closed in 2005, and most notably was on air during the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York City. Rachel could also be heard on LBC 97.3's Nick Ferrari Show on Friday mornings.
Rachel started her career at Channel One in her home city of Liverpool before working as a newsreader for GMTV and Five News. She also covered the Midlands for ITV national bulletins as a video journalist before taking on the role of presenter for many ITV News programmes.
McTavish became a freelance journalist on STV's Scotland Today in 2007 fronting the west opt-out bulletin, and the late updates at 10.30pm.
On 28 April 2008, she joined STV's The Five Thirty Show, replacing Debi Edward.
