The Rabil Airport (Portuguese Aeroporto de Rabil) (IATA: BVCICAO: GVBA) is an airport in Cape Verde located in the island of Boa Vista, about 5 km southeast of the island capital Sal Rei. Its IATA code means Boa Vista, Cape Verde, and the last two letters of the ICAO code is Boa Vista. The airport was inaugurated in the late-20th century. It was later paved. Rabil airport is planned to start international operations in July, with a new runway (2,200m), which would make it the newest international airport in Cape Verde[citation needed].

October 13, 2007 TACV made a test flight between Sal airport and Rabil airport with purpose of the conclusion of the operational certification of the new airport, October 31 TACV became officially the first airline to operate with a jet (Boeing 757-200 [D4-CBG]) in Rabil Airport, an inaugural flight from Praia airport, this day was one of the most important days for Cape Verde, and the people of Boa Vista, were so happy to see a large jet on their Island. 19 December 2007 another special aircraft to visit Boa Vista island,Livingston Airlines(A321-200(EI-LVA)) made the first international arrival in Rabil from Verona, Italy. The passengers were greeted with "morabeza" by Cape Verdians.
