Hello, this is the first article I have created for Wikipedia. I have been reading articles on Wikipedia for the past year and have begun to contribute to articles that need attention previously from my IP aka 71.142.221.66.

It is fitting or proper that I should create a page to honor Raúl Velasco, RIP, who is and was foremost a great man, TV host, producer and celebrity. As a youngster growing up in a Mexican-American neighborhood, I was quote unquote forced by my parents to watch his show, Siempre en Domingo on Sunday afternoons. It came on if memory serves me correctly at 1 PM PST and lasted til 7 PM. At the time as a child raised as an American who spoke no Spanish, I did not appreciate this program except for parts where famous comedians like Cantinflas or Topo Gigio appeared. Now, as an adult, I appreciate this aspect of my Spanish culture (my father originates from Spain). Like other programs such as Lawrence Welk and Ed Sullivan, which "my parents also forced me to watch", I now very glad to have witnessed Raúl Velasco's contributions.

Based upon what I have seen with other Wikipedia articles, I expect someone who has not seen or known Siempre en Domingo to challenge me based upon the dates as listed by IMDB. For anyone, who has read IMDB (to which I am also a contributor), it is not the "end-all" or "know all" on any TV, much less Mexican or Latin American, programs.

I would ask any editor or contributor to consider that the some of the general facts I have submitted in my first article are those as known by someone who grew up with the show. Name changes occur much like with 8 Simple Rules. What is known to you and known to me are not always universally known and vice-versa.

This being said, I ask for kind and generous edits. I will revisit this page and attempt to bring it up to one that is typical of any other article. Ronbo76 04:07, 3 December 2006 (UTC)ronbo76Ronbo76 04:07, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
