Raúl García Escudero, Raúl García (born July 11, 1986 in Pamplona) is a Spanish football midfielder for Atlético Madrid and the Spanish under 21 national team.
The midfielder played for CA Osasuna during his years as a youth footballer. On 28.10.2004 he made his debut for the first team, in a 0-3 away defeat against FC Barcelona, with his first chance being offered by current colchoneros coach, Mexican Javier Aguirre.
In 2007, the rising star was linked to Real Madrid for transfer,[citation needed] but García eventually signed a 5-year contract with their cross-city rivals, Atlético Madrid, in a transfer fee of €13m. [1]
