Raúl Corrales Forno was born in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, January 29, 1925. He died on April in 2006, in Havana, Cuba. He had a remarcable career as a photographer as he worked in many publications. Since 1961 was member of the Photography Section of the Union de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (U.N.E.A.C)

He had many exhibitions, among them we can quote"35 con la 35". Galería Habana, 1980. In 1985 "Homenaje a Raúl Corrales" Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana. In 1993 "Visa pour l'Image. 5 Festival International du Photoreportage". Perpignan, France. His photos were exhibited in 1998 in "Raúl Corrales. Exposición Retrospectiva" . Fototeca de Cuba,Havana, Cuba. In 2002 "Raúl Corrales"' . Couturier Gallery, Los Angeles, California, EE. UU.'Grimaldis Gallery, Baltimore, Maryland, EE. UU.

He also formed part of many collective exhibitions: In 1966 "Primera Muestra de la Cultura Cubana". Pabellón Cuba,Havana, Cuba. In 1978 some of his images were selected and presented in "Hecho en Latinoamérica I, Primera Muestra de la Fotografía Latinoamericana Contemporánea", Museo de Arte Moderno, México, D.F., México. He was also part of the exhibition"Cuba Then and Now". Gallery at 678, Nueva York, EE. UU in 1998 and in 2002 "Cuba 1960-2000. Sogno e realtá". Italian Foundation for Photography, Turín, Italy.

During his life he obteined many awards and recognitions like Premio Salón de Artes Plásticas, UNEAC 1979. Premio de Fotografía Cubana 1982, Salón 23 y M, Hotel Habana Libre. In 1996 he was recognized with the National Prize Of Visual Arts, granted by Ministerio de Cultura, Cuba.

His work can be found in relevant collections such as Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione, Universidad de Parma, Italy; Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, EE.UU. Ryanson College Gallery of Arts, Ottawa, Canada. In Cuba his work can be foud in important collections: Casa de las Américas, Havana;Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana.
