[edit] Notability

There is a claim by User:W.marsh that the subject of this article isn't notable on his own. I don't feel that strongly one way or the other, but I think there should be a window to discuss this before doing a redirect to Something Positive. I do strongly feel that the current (unreferenced) state of the article has little direct bearing on whether the subject of the article is notable or not. There are plenty of unreferenced articles for which references can be found. --Starwed 16:22, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

  • This is an article on a living person, see WP:BLP. We find sources first, not later. --W.marsh 16:57, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
  • And in case that isn't good enough, I wholly support the redirect. There's absolutely nothing notable about this person other than the topic of that other article, so it now redirects to that article. DreamGuy 19:32, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Since Milholland draws several other comics (even though these are all related to S*P in one way or another), I think he's "notable" enough to deserve a biographical article of his own. I say the entry under his name should be put back. Alice Stewart 01:42, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

As a minor point, if the webcomic entry is going to stay, then it's logical to have an entry about the creator of the comic. Even if he is only notable for said comic, if the comic is notable enough to be here, so is its creator. There's nothing wrong with only allowing verifiable entries in Milholland's page, but to have nothing is rather puzzling. --Johncwelch 01:51, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

According to Wikipedia:Notability guidelines then it is extremely easy to prove this case. Where should I put the references? Here? Shouldn't someone undelete the article and then give it the notability tag? If someone does that, I'll be happy to fill it with references this weekend. --Aaronp808 02:00, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
