R. Bindu is wife of CPM central committee member A. Vijayaraghavan. She is a professor at Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. In the elections to the local bodies held in the month of September 2005, she contested and won as a candidate of Left Democratic Front pioneered by the Communist Party of India ( Marxist ).
