R. C. Pruett (born September 19, 1944 in Houston, Texas) is a Democratic State Representative for District 19 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives[1]. He is also the owner of two supermarkets in Antlers and Broken Bow, Oklahoma[citation needed]. In his first campaign in 2004 he defeated Democrat John Williams to get the nomination and went on to win the election. In 2006 he was unchallenged and again secured his seat in the house. In 2008 he announced that he would not enter the Senate race instead staying in the House race. He will be term in limited in 2016.

Pruett attended Texas A&M University. He is married to Barbara and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
