[edit] Wikipedia is not a how-to guide.
Hi, I see you've created the article List of advice for IB students. While this kind of advice is no doubt useful, its place is not in an encyclopaedia, such as Wikipedia. What Wikipedia is not clearly states that Wikipedia is not an instrucion manual:
- while Wikipedia has descriptions of people, places, and things, Wikipedia articles should not include instruction - advice ( legal, medical, or otherwise), suggestions, or contain "how-to"s. This includes tutorials, walk-throughs, instruction manuals, video game guides, and recipes. Wikibooks is a Wikipedia sister-project which is better suited for such things.
You could try putting the advice on Wikibooks instead. - ulayiti (talk) 08:47, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RE: external link
Hi - Wikipedia is beginning to have a real problem with external links. I removed the link you mention because it was added by a contributer who was going around and adding only links. That type of contributing tends to get reverted fairly quickly, as it can be difficult to determine the motives of the contributer (an important factor to consider when determining the value of a link).
If you as a legitimate editor here feel that the link is valuable, feel free to re-add it. My "task" is complete once I've removed the spam. If future editors later determine the link to be worthwhile, I take no issue with it being re-added. Cheers! --AbsolutDan (talk) 02:31, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
