Rømskog is a municipality in the county of Østfold, Norway.
Rømskog was separated from Rødenes January 1, 1902.

The Norse form of the name was Rymsskógr. The first element is the genitive case of the name of the lake Rymr (now Rømsjøen), the last element is skógr 'wood, forest'. (The meaning of the name Rymr is unknown.)

The coat-of-arms is from modern times (1983). It shows a pair of lifting tongs (used in forestry).

Slavasshøgda is a hill in Rømskog and is the highest point in Østfold (336 m).
