Róta
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Norse mythology Róta was one of the valkyries. According to the Prose Edda she attended the battlefields along with Gunnr and Skuld and chose those who were to be slain then taken to Valhalla. Apart from this mention she is all but unknown.
Her name occurs in the kenning "reifandi gnýþings götva geir-Rótu" meaning the naughty enricher of the loud congress of the garments of spear-Róta, i.e. warrior. [1]
