Rîbniţa sub-district (Russian: Rybnitsa/Рыбница) is an administrative sub-region of Transnistria, Moldova. Is located in the historical region Podolia. It contains the city of Rîbniţa, and 22 communes: Andreevca, Beloci, Broşteni, Butuceni, Cobasna, Crasnencoe, Ghidirim, Haraba, Hârjău, Jura, Lenin, Mihailovca, Mocra, Molochişul Mare, Ofatinţi, Plopi, Popencu, Sovetscoe, Stroieşti, Ulmu, Vadul-Turcului, and Vărăncău.
The rural population of the region includes 29,051 people.[citation needed] The region had in 1989 a population of 34,400 people[dubious – discuss], excluding the city of Rîbniţa: 47% were Moldovans, 42% were Ukrainians, 8% were Russians, and the rest were Bulgarians, Gagauzians, Jews, Belarusians, Poles, and Germans. It is located in 47°45′N, 29°00′E.
