Diario Rio Negro is a daily newspaper published in Río Negro Province, Neuquén Province, South La Pampa, North Chubut, South Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires City.

The Rio Negro Newspaper is the most oldest newspaper circulating in Patagonia region. The Rio Negro was founded on May 1, 1912. At first the newspaper was published every Fortnight but later it was published weekly. Since 1958 the newspaper circulates as a daily newspaper.

Since the foundation, the newspaper is very attached to the readers. The articles mostly talk about local matters and region matters. it was one of the few that critizice the military governament in the country (1976-1983) editing articles about the kidnappings and the violation of the human rights during that period.
