Golf championships organised or co-organised by the R&A. The individual events always take place in the United Kingdom, but some of the team events take place alternately in Great Britain & Ireland, and in either Continental Europe or the United States.

Note that unlike the situation in the United States, where the USGA conducts amateur championships for both men and women, the R&A does not directly organise women's amateur events. Women's amateur golf in Great Britain and Ireland is governed by the Ladies' Golf Union, which is separate from, though affiliated with, the R&A.
