Qusay Salahaddin

Qusay Salahaddin was as Sunni Arab student in Mosul. Salahaddin was the head of the student union of the University of Mosul, one of Iraq's most distinguished universities. Gunmen abducted Salahaddin on December 22, 2005 after leading a demonstration against the results of the recent Iraqi parliamentary elections. His body was found the following Sunday, December 25, 2005. Some 2,000 fellow students gathered at the mosque where his body had been taken. Students and Sunnis accused militias loyal to the Shiite Alliance bloc for the death of Salahaddin. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the murder of Salahaddin.
