Is it at all possible to clean these up, remove redundant quotation templates, and specific the correct usage of the ones we need? I'll do it, if I'm allowed, but I'm the first to admit that I've never done a project like that before. skeeJay 23:38, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

There should only be one quotation style/template, but good luck convincing people to delete the others. — Omegatron 03:32, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

See my modest proposal on these templates here. —Down10 TACO 08:45, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
On further consideration, these should all be boiled down to two templates: Template:Quotation (edit talk links history) for lengthier, traditional block quotes, and Template:Cquote (edit talk links history) (to be renamed Pullquote or Q) for informal pullquotes. Alignment modifications can be rolled into the templates dynamically. —Down10 TACO 08:54, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
By the way, I've just done some cleanup work so that the template {{quote}} is no longer being used as a redirect to the now-well-established {{wikiquote}} (a box link to related Wikiquote articles). User:StitchPedia has been working on various quoting mechanisms using this obvious template name, so you all might want to get together to discuss this. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 12:51, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template inside quotations?

Should the template {{interpolation}} be in this category? It's used for formatting the text inside quotations but does not itself mark a quotation. -- Antaeus Feldspar 16:14, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

I've added it to the category, as the template is indeed "used when quoting someone or something directly". -- Antaeus Feldspar 19:50, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
