[edit] Ithaca Commons
You shouldn't remove citation needed tags until you cite sources. Statements such as "The Commons is the center of Ithaca and Tompkins County civic life, serving as the main community meeting space" require references and until they are provided, I'm restoring the citiation needed tags. I was born in Ithaca and even I know that this needs a news article or other reputable source as proof. Cornell Rockey 13:37, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- "The Commons is the center of Ithaca and Tompkins County civic life, serving as the main community meeting space" this need proof, and a map wouldn't do it. A news article describing the commons as the center of county civic life and lead meeting space would take care of it. I would make the claim however, that it is not the center of civic life in the county, as Moosewood and Collegetown Bagles aren't located there, neither are the County Courthouse or any churches. Ithaca's downtown is the center of civic life in Ithaca, but the Commons itself?
- As for "The Commons was created in 1974, in part to counteract a proposed mall to have been located where the Wegmans and Wal-Mart plazas are located approximately 2 miles southwest of the Commons" I was always taught that the Commons was built to counteract the Mall up in Lansing, not one in SE Ithaca near Elmira Road, so I feel this needs citation as well.
