Anantara Solutions Private Limited (Anantara) is an outsourcing company with headquarters in Chennai,India that defined Second Generation Outsourcing.Anantara means "Continuum" in Sanskrit. Anantara Solutions is ranked among the top 10 start up’s to watch for in 2008 by live mint (A Wall Street Journal). NASSCOM has listed Anantara Solutions among the 100 top IT innovators for 2007.
Anantara Solutions was founded by G.B.Prabhat, co-founder of Satyam Renaissance Consulting and former Director, Consulting and Enterprise Solutions, Satyam Computer Services and his management team of eight partners. The eight members of the management team were senior executives at Satyam Computer Services, who grew quite close while they built Satyam’s consulting practices from scratch. The company gets 40% of its business from India and 60% from abroad. The company is funded by Helion Venture, with an investment of $6.5 million. The other investors include Walden international, SVB Financial Group and a US-based venture capitalist, Christian Wedell.
This new generation outsourcing company partners with clients to deliver innovative products. The company is like a manufacturing company. The company designs products but buys components from some 25 supplier companies spread across India, China, Russia, Singapore and the Malta island and assembles them. This methodology is so typical of any manufacturing assembly line, but the company is an information technology consulting company.Renowned technology writer, Steve Hamm commended the innovative business model of the company, stating that if it took off, it could pose a serious challenge to the outsourcing status quo, not just in India but worldwide.[1]
