Talk:Quintus Pedius Publicola
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Sources
Much less is known about this person than a former revision assumed. The ancient sources are:
- an inscription of 41 BC (CIL 6, 358), naming a "Quintus Pedius" as quaestor
- the passage in Horace about an orator Pedius (Publicola)
- a passage in Pliny the Elder about a grandson of Quintus Pedius, cos. suff. 43, which shows that the elder Pedius was married to a Valeria. It is not clear if she was a sister to Valerius Messalla Corvinus or another relation (Messala orator, ex cuius familia pueri avia fuerat), so all speculations about cousins of this Pedius are futile.--84.190.109.101 (talk) 11:57, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
