Was Quint's given name ever mentioned? Trekphiler 22:34, 5 January 2006 (UTC) No. In the book Brody and Hooper look him up in the phone book and it only says "Quint." When he picks up the phone he only says "Quint" as well. Benchley probably wanted him to remain mysterious. -Alex Moir

Ellen Brody: "That's gotta be Quint!" Superior1 21:18, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't know why the "Jaws" homepage itself is wrong, but if you click on the link about Quint's Indianapolis speech, it says "the island of Tinian Delady." This was obviously written by someone who wrote the spoken speech down as they heard it, and not from the actual movie script. Quint says "coming back from the Island of Tinian to Leyte..." Obviously Leyte is correct, as it is a Pacific island. Delady makes no sense, it's just that Robert Shaw's accent makes it sound like that. This should be corrected. (I'm the original writer of the Quint article, as well. Thanks for the corrections and format improvements over the past year.) -Alex Moir
