[edit] Height
I don't think telling the height is necessary. Then again...ah, who cares.-Erika Blue
Its 1.86 meters. Anyone can change it?-HK-47
i dont really know how.... but why are star wars measurements always metric? lucas is american...
Lucas does not write the Star Wars books.
And "american" doesn't mean that he would not use the metric system. Anyhow, the first sentence of this article should be changed. A Wikipedia text about a fictional character is not supposed to start with "Qhunlan Vos is a jedi knight" without any remark about it being fictional.
[edit] Vos: Anti-hero?
Should Vos be added to Wikipedia's "Anti-heroes" category? I've seen him referred to as an "anti-hero" in print.

- I'd say Vos fits the anti-hero category pretty well, I suggest adding him Midusunknown 03:50, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] TV casting
Question: At the end of the article it states that Matthew Newton will play Vos in the upcoming TV series.... Where did this info come from? I've not heard this mentioned anywhere. Is this just speculation/wishful thinking? Technocratic 05:40, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Whose villie?
[edit] Origin of the name Quinlan
Just added a bit on the above and an external source on. Hope its interesting. Fergananim 14:32, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
It's not. I have no idea how it is remotely applicable and should be removed. 167.230.104.90 19:04, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Actor Portrayal
Vos is being mentioned on the Star Wars Live-Action TV Series page as a potential character for the series. There's a note there that says Lucas asked the writers of the Star Wars Republic series not to kill off Quinlan Vos, and of course this stirs the rumor mill that he may appear in the series.
There's a note about a potential actor, though if I had a choice I'd pick Jason Momoa, who plays Ronon Dex on Stargate Atlantis. I mean, look at the guy, he's big, and he's got the hair already. Shave off his face beard and he'd be a damn near dead ringer for Vos.
Anyways, it may be of interest to note some degree of speculation. I'm usually against it, but it may appeal to fans of Quinlan who come to his wiki. TotalTommyTerror 18:57, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Article is missing something vital
Namely.... who is this guy? What works is he in? I saw the movies, and don't recognize him. There should be some sort of explanation of whether he's primarily just comic books, novels, or here he comes from. DreamGuy 10:45, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] In-universe
Anyone seriously interested in improving the article should consider adding some real world related info, e.g. regarding the concept, creation, and/or function of the character within the Star Wars narrative etc. Please consult our writing about fiction guideline, which also includes a list of exemplary articles.
There are currently three featured articles on Star Wars characters: Palpatine, Padmé Amidala, and Jabba the Hutt. What sets them aside from most of the other SW character articles is the effort to write from the real world perspective. Pay particular attention to paragraphs like Jabba the Hutt#Concept and creation, Palpatine#Concept and creation, and Padmé Amidala#Characterization.
Also take a look at Darth Vader, which despite its lack of reliable, published third-party secondary sources features interesting sections on e.g. #Character creation and concepts and Darth Vader as a #Cultural figure.
Even though reliable sources may be tough to come up with, any effort to introduce coherently written real world aspects will be greatly appreciated, because it contributes to the depth of the article and accurate coverage of the topic, and thereby makes for an improved reading experience and increases the encyclopedic value of the article.

[edit] Reliable sources tag
I removed the reliable sources tag for now. The use of primary sources and the lack of reliable sources (other than the primary sources) is a problem that pervades virtually every article on an entertainment topic (books, TV shows, movies), as well as articles on obscure topics. For example, there is no way that articles on lesser known Jedis like Quinlan Vos could be written without using primary sources (it's not something that the New York Times, Encyclopedia Britannica or Time magazine is going to cover), unless you count a couple of sentences as an article. While I know that the placer of the tag is trying to help, I do not think it is helpful to use the tag on individual entertainment articles and not on others that do the same thing. It probably would not be helpful to label virtually every entertainment article with it, either. Rather, I think that either an exception to the use of primary sources be made for topics for which they are essential or the articles not be written at all, unless reliable, non-primary sources can be found. Given the number of editors who work on such articles, I do not think that the second option is viable unless Jimbo or the board decrees it. Even then, it would be very difficult to do. The first option is somewhat more workable, but it would be hard to get such a policy past the conservative editors (conservative in Wikipedia matters, not politics). Unfortunately, I believe that no action will be taken and people will just keep the status quo. This page is not on my watchlist, so if you want a reply, you will need to notify me on my talk page. -- Kjkolb 03:27, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- Nobody, and not the tag, is saying that primary sources shouldn't be used. But they are simply never enough to write a proper encyclopedia article. The tag should be appropriately placed on all articles that lack reliable and independent secondary sources to help draw attention to the problem (which it is).
- If secondary sources cannot be come up with for a certain article, the question is whether that article should really have a place on Wikipedia rather than to absolve that page from the most basic requirements of an encyclopedia article. — aldebaer 12:59, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
