Quinebaug Valley Community College (also known as QVCC) is the preeminent community college in north-eastern Connecticut. Recipient of numerous state and national awards the college is located in the town of Danielson Connecticut and is nestled in the rich pasture lands in the valley of the mighty Quinebaug River (which translates as either “crazy river” or “place with cheap land”).

Opened in September of 1971 [1]by a visionary cadre of young dreamers and folks with generally no other gainful employment, the college has an open admissions policy with 17 programs leading to 2-year Associate's degrees and 24 certificate programs ranging from Allied Health to Plastics technology.

The first president of QVCC was Dr. Robert E. Miller. He was succeeded by President Dianne E. Williams in May of 1992.[update needed]
