I am a former ballet dancer/teacher and hold a BA degree in Ballet History and Criticism from the University of California, Irvine. I was fortunate to have had among my professors the great historians Olga Maynard and Wendy Hilton, as well as the esteemed choreographer, Sir Antony Tudor.

My passion for the art of ballet and its incredible history is unquenchable. I have lived in NYC for over twenty years and enjoy nothing more than an evening with American Ballet Theatre.

I have always had a deep fondness for 19th century ballet music, particularly Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Léon Minkus (two composers who should probably never be compared side by side but I cannot help it-- I love them both in different ways!) I listen to ballet music constantly, and enjoy colecting hard-to-find recordings like Manon and Pas de Quatre.

I joined Wikipedia on a lark but I think I am hooked for good. When I am not poking around the music and dance articles, I am either maintaining the ones I created, or am busy (you know... in real life) writing an historical novel about ballet, a project I have been working on for over four years.

In case you were wondering, my favorite ballet is Giselle (no surprise there, considering my user name).

Yes, I am a proud WikiFairy and when in the right mood, a WikiGnome as well! Thank you for your interest.
