[edit] Is there an English version of the film?
I can't understand french.
-G
- Yes there is. That's the version I watched. 189.180.69.45 23:19, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Actually there are no modern languages used in the film. I remember from the dvd director's commentary that a linguist created languages which were used. The commentary of the dvd I saw was in English. I plan to add some mention of this but don't want to go by memory alone.-Crunchy Numbers (talk) 20:15, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Copyright
Needs some attention to remove potential copyright violations as well as throw in some actual information. --Dante Alighieri 01:17 20 May 2003 (UTC)
[edit] Contradiction
In stating that Quest for Fire "is a 1911 French novel by J.-H. Rosny aîné", this article contradicts the article on J.-H. Rosny, which claims that Quest for Fire was authored jointly by the Boex brothers and that "Joseph (J.-H. Rosny aîné) is somewhat better known and many of the joint Rosny works are incorrectly attributed only to the elder brother". Which is correct? TheMadBaron 07:45, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- It also says "After 1909, the two brothers ended their collaboration [and signed with their own names]" -- QFF came out in 1911 -- another contradiction. Guess we need a source to verify. -- Stbalbach 15:46, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- I added a source (1967 edition dust jacket) which is better than nothing, but not great. I also contacted User:Diderot who wrote the J.-H. Rosny article to see if he has a better source or info. -- Stbalbach 15:59, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Iron Maiden's song "Quest For Fire"
Does anyone know if this song was part of the movie or the song was created AFTER or Before the movie?

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ulam.jpg
Image:Ulam.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:27, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Film or Novel ?
I can't check this directly as I don't have the book at hand and haven't read it in a long time, but the whole page seems to be about the film and not the novel (in particular some plot details, such as the attack at the beginning (the book begins after the defeat) and the existence of Iva are definitely not in the book). This should specified at the beginning...
[edit] Expert needed
I have split the article in two and made a separate article for the film. The plot summary in the article is still that of the film. Please can someone who has read the book replace it with the plot of the book? Mallanox 23:29, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
