Is there a Queensborough in Australia too?

Maybe - but this article in on Queenborough (no s) not Queensborough - in the past it has been spelt Quinborowe.

MR GREET AND THE NEAR DESTITUTION OF QUEENBOROUGH.

in the 1820s the town's corporation (led by the mayor called Thomas Young Greet) came in to conflict with the town's fishermen. It led to the town's near destitution. It is quite a saga which I've only picked up in snippets using Google Book Search. Is there a modern account of these events?

Gene Wirchenko genew@ocis.net: This article states that Queensborough is 2 miles south of Sheerness. The Sheerness article states the figure as 1 mile. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.181.25.30 (talk) 03:56, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
