Queenswood Heights (Ottawa)

Queenswood Heights is a neighbourhood located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the east end of the city in Orleans. It is bounded by St. Joseph Boulevard to the north, Tenth Line Road to the east, a ravine/nature trail to the west and Innes Road to the south.

The neighbourhood was established in 1962[1] and was the first modern subdivision created in the area.

Major streets in the neighbourhood include:

  • St. Georges
  • Des Epinettes
  • Prestwick
  • Tompkins

There are four schools serving the needs of young students in the neighbourhood, although Queenswood Public School has been recommended for closure in September 2008 with students being transferred to Dunning-Foubert.[2]

  • Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic School - English Catholic elementary School
  • École élémentaire catholique Reine-des-Bois - Catholic French language elementary school
  • Dunning-Foubert Elementary School - English public elementary school
  • Queenswood Public School - English public elementary school (slated for closure in September 2008)
