Queen and Crescent Railroad

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Queen and Crescent Railroad, originally known as the Cincinnati Southern Railroad, was a railroad that extended from Cincinnati, Ohio to New Orleans, Louisiana. The name came from the fact that Cincinnati's nickname is the Queen City, and New Orleans' is the Crescent City.

In 1911 the firemen of the railroad had a serious strike.[1]

In 1913 the Queen and Crescent Hotel in New Orleans was built to serve as its headquarters.
