Queen Mary Stakes

The Queen Mary Stakes is a Group 2 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 5 furlongs (1,006 metres) at Ascot Racecourse during the Royal Ascot meeting in June.
It was first run in 1921 and is named after Queen Mary, Queen consort of King George V. The race was upgraded to Group 2 status in 2004, having been previously run at Group 3 level.
