Queen Margaret's School, York

Queen Margaret's School is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 11-18 in Escrick Park near York. Margaret's was originally established at Scarborough in 1901 by the Woodard Foundation. It subsequently moved to Pitlochry and then to Castle Howard. After World War II, it was moved to its present day location in Escrick Park. The school was named after Queen Margaret the Queen of Scotland from 1070-1093 and Scotland's only saint. There are approximately 365 students in the school 90% of whom are boarders.
