[edit] Early political career

Her start in galactic politics was under the guidance of Sio Bibble. Jamillia was very different to the person she would later become, in those days. She was once as wise, generous and, as Padme was, in favour of the power of negotiation over military action. What she learned from Bibble helped her to become, firstly an apprentice legislator, then a junior advisor to Queen Amidala's predecssor. However, her hard edge did start to show itself, when she voted for harsh and unpopular amendments to Naboo's constitution. When she became one with the Sith, her harsh nature became even crueller and more twisted. Bibble had made no secret of wanting his best student to take over from Padme, when the time came.

[edit] Reign

After the events of the prequel movie Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Queen Amidala completed her two constitutionally permitted terms as Naboo's elected monarch. In the succeeding elections, Queen Jamillia was chosen to become the new Queen. Queen Jamillia asked Padmé to continue serving the people of Naboo. Even though she had every right to retire and to seek a new career in the private sector, Padmé agreed and became Naboo's representative in the Galactic Senate.

In Episode II: Attack of the Clones, two assassination attempts on Padmé's life were made; Jamillia became personally concerned for Padmé's safety during the Separatist crisis, and helped conceal her presence on Naboo when the young Senator was hiding from would-be assassins with her soon-to-be lover Anakin Skywalker.

[edit] Abdication and exile

As the Clone Wars dragged on, Jamillia increasingly became convinced that Count Dooku's criticisms of the Old Republic's incompetence and corruption were correct. Jamillia had stated that she no longer had faith in the Republic.

As her unpopular sentiments became public, the people and government pressured her into abdicating in favor of a new and more effective monarch. Jamillia acquiesced but stayed in office until the elections had resulted in the victory of the Apailana, Princess of Theed, whom Jamilla had supported the whole way through. In turn, Apailana helped the former Queen to leave Naboo peacefully. It was rumored Jamillia left, because she was frightened of what the Naboo would do to her outside the Palace. Aside from the wellmeaning Queen Apailana, the people of Naboo, including her one-time political ally Padme, were glad to see the back of her.

[edit] Link to Palpatine

Jamilla journeyed to Coruscant to try and rebuild her political career, but she was unable even to get a position as a handmaiden. Then, one night, after being thrown out of a bar in the lower levels of Coruscant for being drunk and disorderly, she met Palpatine. Because she was at her lowest ebb, he was able to work on her mind and her soul, quite quickly. As he would later do with Anakin, he revealed that he was Darth Sidious. Offering her the chance to regain political power and respect was enough of an incentive to allow herself to become one with the Sith. He tought her how to use the power of the Sith to invade minds and affect their dreams. Away from prying eyes, she learned this skill swiftly. He then urged Jamillia to renounce her views about the Republic, or appear to, in order to try and win Padme's confidence and friendship again. The two of them rekindled their friendship.

Jamillia's new mental powers helped her to discover that Padme was pregnant. Following the safe return of Palpatine after being "abducted", she imparted to him what she knew, and he ordered her to work on Anakin's anxieties by planting a mental image in her mind, from a possible future that Jamillia herself had seen. It had the desired effect: Palpatine was then able to work on Anakin's fears of losing Padme, which created enough emotional confusion within him to turn to the dark side of the Force, assuming the mantle of Darth Vader, until the battle on Endor, where he turned against the Sith.

[edit] Later years

As a reward for all she had done for him, Palpatine, who had now scrapped the Republic and formed the Galactic Empire, offered her the rank of one of the Regional Governors, securing her a place on the newly-created Sith Council, a position she held until the Rebel Alliance overthrew the regime. Whilst fleeing Coruscant, rebel agents captured her. In spite of Luke Skywalker's intention to offer her a period of incarceration, in return for her willingness to renounce her political ambitions, the members of the new Galactic Senate linked her to the creation of the first Death Star, and voted overwhelmingly to have her executed. Jamillia silently asked Padme for forgiveness, before committing suicide.
