Queen's College is a public school in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa. It is one of the oldest boarding schools in the Eastern Cape and is celebrating its sesquicenenial (150^th) anniversary.

[edit] Student Body

Queen's College boasts a diverse student body, having successfully made the transition from segregated schooling as early as 1992. This diverse student body is headed Mr Chris Harker, headmaster and teacher of the school. Below him is his presumed successor, Mr Boy, Senior Vice-Principal. There are numerous other positions held by teachers in the school, including Heads of Subjects, Heads of Grades and Vice Principal, a position subordinate to Mr Boy's. Forming an important liaison between Staff and Student Body is the Prefect Body, a democratically appointed group of students who maintain order and discipline in the school.

Queen's currently boasts three boarding houses; Connaught, Whitson and Athlone.

Athlone, the first house a boarder will go through, has the primary purpose of housing Grade 8's (std 6's), and conditioning them for further boarding life. Connaught and Whitson serve the function of housing Grades 9 - 12 (stds 7 - 10).

Queen's is a school of excellent facilities, having four well-maintained cricket pitches in the summer, and up to 7 rugby fields in the winter. The school maintains an additional 4 hockey fields in the winter. There is also seating provided to onlookers, in the form of portable stands in the lesser fields and hockey fields, and permanent grandstands on the 1^st XI's Parry Davis field, and the Victoria Recreation Grounds
