The King's/Queen's Bargemaster is a subordinate officer of the Royal Household of the Sovereign of the United Kingdom.
He is responsible for the twelve Royal Watermen, each of whom receives an annual salary of £3.50. Those watermen over the age of 70 years become extra watermen to the King/Queen. He has part-time duties whenever the Sovereign travels on inland waterways, and also on certain ceremonial occasions.
