A picture/diagram would be helpful to illustrate this explaination

I can only do a .png file, but I think I'll have time this week to do up a good approximation. Banaticus 08:12, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Additional 1911 info

"A mechanical construction is as follows: Let AMP be a semicircle with centre 0 A (fig. 2). Let PQ be the ordinate of the point P FIG. I. on the circle, and let M be another point on the circle so related to P that the ordinate PQ moves from A to 0 in the same time as the vector OM describes a quadrant. Then the locus of the intersection of PQ and OM is the quadratrix of Dinostratus."

I can't make much out of this, because the 1911 Britannica OCR scans don't have images. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can get it. zafiroblue05 | Talk 17:54, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Quadratix

"Quadratix" had a stub referencing the same thing. I redirected it here. Applejuicefool (talk) 20:57, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
