Quatre Bras

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quatre Bras is the name of a crossroad in Wallonia, Belgium where the Charleroi-Brussels road and the Nivelles-Namur road cross. On June 16, 1815 near the crossroads of Quatre Bras, the Battle of Quatre Bras was fought between contingents of the Anglo-allied army and the left wing of the French Army.

It is also the name of the crossroad in Tervuren between the Tervurenlaan/Avenue de Tervuren (Brussels-Tervuren road) and the Brussels outer ring R0. The latter is usually referred to as Vier-Armenkruispunt or Quatre Bras de Tervuren, and is a key location for car traffic around Brussels.
