Quasar Padamsee

Quasar Thakore Padamsee (born 20th August,1978) is an Indian stage actor turned theatre director. Both his parents Alyque Padamsee and Dolly Thakore were renowned stage actors and his mother was a casting director for the Academy Award winning film Gandhi in 1982. His father played the role of Jinnah in the same movie.
He studied English Literature at St. Xavier's College in Mumbai.[1] Though he started his career following his father, as an adman, he soon started full time theatre by starting his own theatre company called QTP, which serves both Quasar Thakore Padamsee as well as Q theatre Productions.
Since 1999, he has directed and produced over 20 plays with his theatre company Q Theatre Productions which is based in Mumbai. He also works as a stage manager and lighting designer for the theatre productions. He is also the Assistant Director of Tim Supple's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". He is also the chairman and manager of the annual Thespo festival in Mumbai and Bangalore(Bengalooru). He considers himself as a complete "theatre-wallah" His house in Versova couples as the office for QTP, Thespo festival and the monthly Play reading quoted 'The Great Text'.
Plays produced in Mumbai by Quasar Padamsee include The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, Minorities, All My Sons, and The Urban Burden.[2] He is reportedly planning a new directorial venture this year.

His half-sisters include Raell Padamsee(d/o Pearl Padamsee) and Shanaaz Padamsee(d/o Sharon Prabhakar) He is a self confessed Agnostic individual which is just one of the many things which parallel him with his father.
