As noted then, the Quantico Yacht Club supports military members and their families

The original club was without a permanent or dedicated meeting place. During its first 30 years of existence, the club met inside various marina buildings, a base "schoolhouse", and in various sandwich shops and other commercial establishments in the Town of Quantico. In 1975, with the assitance of a Boeing Engineer, Johannes Morgensterne and the Harbor Master Oreste "Rusty" Arcuni, the QYC established a dedicated clubhouse within the Quantico marina boatyard.

The original clubhouse lasted until 2004, when in September, the Potomac River flooded the area due to heavy rainfall during Hurricane Isabel. Since then, with a key member donations of funds from Commodore Emeritus Pete Janns and his wife Ann, long time members Jerry and Cheri Saggers, and numerous hours of donated labor, the QYC has managed to again establish a dedicated presence to host the Marines and their families for various club functions, as noted on the QYC calendar of events (html).
