Quang Ninh is a district (huyện) in Quang Binh Province. The district capital is Quan Hau townlet. Quang Ninh borders the capital city of Dong Hoi to the north, Bo Trach to the north-west, Lệ Thủy District to the south and South China Sea to the east. Quảng Ninh has an area of 1190.89 km2, popualtion in 2004: 90.000 người. This district has 25 km seashore and 35 km borderline with Laos.[1]The district population: 87,367 (1998), the area: 1190.893 km2. National Road 1A, Ho Chi Minh Highway, Hanoi-Saigon Railway crosses this district. Two main rivers in this district: Nhat Le River and Long Dai River.
