Quan "Meld" Nong was one of the first guitarists for what was soon to be known as Slipknot. The band started out under the name Painface and Nong left the band before they were officially formed as Slipknot.
Contrary to rumor, he was never a vocalist. Quan Nong eventually left the band to follow a more alternative/punk style of music. He never wore a mask.
He was also an ex-member of Heads on the Wall.
Slipknot played their first live performance under the name "Meld."
