Quain Professor
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quain Professor is the professorship title for certain disciplines at University College, London, England. The title is derived from Richard Quain (1800-1887) who became professor of anatomy in 1832 at what was to become UCL. He left funds to the University that endowed professorships for four subjects.
The Quain professorships are of Botany, English language and literature, Jurisprudence, and Physics.
