[edit] Talk page deletion
I see you have blanked your userpage. It's advised that you WP:ARCHIVE your talk page instead of blanking it. TheDJ (talk • contribs • WikiProject Television) 22:05, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] A True Church
I have deleted this page. Please do not create hoax articles. Wikipedia is a serious encyclopedia - it is not Uncyclopedia. When writing about a hoax or about fiction, the article should make it abundantly clear that the subject is fictional. (See Landover Baptist Church, for example.) At any rate, this website, unlike the Landover Baptist, does not appear to meet WP:WEB and thus should not have an article. I am salting this page to prevent recreation. If you disagree, please feel free to take it up at WP:DRV. --BigDT 11:56, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- At your request, I have undeleted it and created a discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A True Church. Do you have any external links claiming that this is a real church? It sure looks like a parody (like Landover Baptist). --BigDT 13:19, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- Please do not delete tags from articles that you have created. Thank you. Pastordavid 16:33, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- I apologize for my comments above. I was obviously incorrect to speedy this and to do anything other than to assume good faith on your part. I'm unconvinced that the church exists or is notable, but you obviously created it in good faith. Please accept my apology. --BigDT 18:42, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Question about Tags
No, I don't think that it is necessarily a part of policy that you cannot remove tags from articles that you created. However, especially when dealing with an article that is part of a broader discussion, it is best not to. The question of whether or not the links you provided earlier prove that its not a hoax is exactly what's being debated in the AfD. If it is not a hoax, let the evidence in the AfD speak for itself, and another editor will remove the tag. Removing it yourself makes it look like you are just being argumentative, and does not further your cause. Pastordavid 16:47, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of The American View
I have nominated The American View, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The American View. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
