QIS College of Engineering and Technology is located in Vengamukkalapalem, Ongole,Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 1998 by Sri Nidamanuri Educational Society. The college is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

The acronym of QIS unofficially is Quality Information Systems though not officially declared or stated any where.Many believe the word Qis has its roots from a Conultancy which is owned by one of the founders.

The QIS College of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 1998, and sponsored by Sri Nidamanuri Educational Society to promote technological education to meet the requirements of a developing nation in the context of global concern at the threshold of the twenty first century.

Located about 2km from NH-5 in a Sceneric and picturesque village of Vengamukkalapalem, the multi storeid buildings of the college is an eye catcher for the near by villagers.

A team of educated, enlightened, experienced technocrats with vision, firmly determined to promote high quality education is striving to provide every facility for achieving excellence. The college is one of the best colleges in and around the Prakasam Dist. The Standards of teaching are very high when compared with the other colleges(only in Prakasam dist). The college is affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

The College is administrated by SNES(Sri Nidamanuri Educational Society), Which has a wide range of academic institutions rangin from public school to Post Graduation.

The council constituted as per the guidelines of the AICTE, ensures adherence to the statutory obligations and rules of AICTE, Govt.of. A.P. and the University. The committee reviews academic/ development progress and ensures selection of quality teaching & non- teaching staff.

Starting in 1998, within a few years the college earned a decent name and garnered a reputation of good engineering college in Prakasam District in the field of engineering which offlate, was hindered by the decline of effective administration. The resignation of former Principal Mr. A.C Rao(in 2005) who is regarded as an administrative and academic stalwart is considered a major blow to the College.

B.Tech., PROGRAMME:

The college offers Four-year B.Tech regular programmer in the disciplines of Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The admission to these courses is based on EAMCET.

The college offers Hostel facilities for both boys and girls , which is a rare initiative among the engineering colleges in the state.

The boys hostel is located in a multi storied building nearby the Police Quarters in Ongole. The boys hostel is taken care by Mr B. Linga Rao, a maths professor in the College.
