Qingjiang
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Qingjiang is a tributary to the Yangtze River. It is 423 kilometers long. Its drainage area is 17,000 km². The Qingjiang empties into the Yangtze at the ancient city of Yichang.
The Qingjiang has three large dams on it, the Geheyan, Gaobazhou, and Shuibuya.[2] The Geheyan dam has a ship lift that can lift vessels of up to 300 tons displacement.
During the 1998 Yangtze flood the dam effectively held back the Qingjiang's flow.[1]
