I feel this is as important as, for example, Robert_Farquharson. It is a murder investigation spanning three countries containing bizarre circumstances that have captured Australia's attention (ref. http://www.theage.com.au/news/opinion/how-to-talk-to-children-about-pumpkin/2007/09/18/1189881511214.html "Water coolers in offices around the nation are abuzz with people talking about the mystery surrounding this little girl and the ongoing search for her Auckland-based mother, Annie Xue."). It involves the abandonment of a 3 year old child, something very rare and sad in Australian culture. Bramley 10:28, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

It should probably be in Wikinews for the time being and moved back to wikipedia once the case is more resolved. dramatic 05:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Are you also considering that the Madeline McCann case be deleted too, as this also hasn't been resolved. I think you would run into a storm of protest on that one... Wallie 07:05, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Probably time subheadings were introduced.

I can't do it right now due to three-edit-max thingy. - Vicer 12:30, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Note on pinyin names

It should be spelt Qianxun Xue according to ordinary rules of pinyin spelling - though all the papers seem to be doing the three separate words thing. --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 13:16, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

In real Hanyu Pinyin, it should be Xue Qianxun, and have tone marks too. We should also have the Han characters for the name. We seem to lack all this information. — Chameleon 13:02, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion discussion

Why should this be deleted? The "Maddie" case is not being consided for deletion, and this is still a current news item. Wallie 07:05, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] photos

I uploaded some cc-by-sa photos on this case. One is in the article now. Since I'm not a very good English writer I left the other two below. Please feel free to use them if needed. --NinjaBear 03:09, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Use of the Qian Xun Xue name

I don't know if or how this affects Wikipedia, but because she was the subject of Family Court proceedings (in order to award custody to her grandmother), she can no longer be named by the press in New Zealand. [2] Thayvian 03:48, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
